After a very successful pilot season Hockey WineUp is back for the NHL 2021-22 season!
Hockey WineUp launched as a pilot during the 2021 NHL Hockey season. By pairing wines with NHL Hockey teams, Hockey WineUp provides an opportunity for individuals to transition into the world of wine or from wine into the world of hockey. The response to date has be very positive and we are planning on continuing into the 2021-22 NHL hockey season.
Are you ready for this?
This year Hockey WineUp will provide an expanded list of wine pairings for watching hockey. The pairings will include 32 Team Wine Pairings with 2 alternative pairings for each team, pairings for each night of the Sportsnet 160+ national coverage games (over 70 nights of hockey), and wine pairings for each round of the NHL Playoff Series including pairings for all 7 games of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals.
When all is said and done there will be nearly 200 Hockey WineUp pairings for this year’s season.
Introducing Calder
Calder is a just over 6 months old and helps out with our research here at Hockey WineUp. He is an Australian Bernedoodle, which is a fancy way of saying Designer Mutt. Like a good hockey team, Calder’s composition is a balance of desired traits resulting in character. For those who are interested Calder is a mix of Poodle, Bernese Mountain Dog, Labrador Retriever, Cocker Spaniel, English Spaniel, Curly Coat Retriever, and Irish Water Spaniel.
Please note, Calder does not actually consume any wine, however he will help us out when we need to decide what we should drink by walking towards the bottle he likes the most. Calder will also show off his hockey expertise throughout the season à la Maggie the Monkey.
