Chicago Blackhawks 2022 Wine Pairing: 2018 Veterans Honor Flight Bravo Blend
Wine Notes
Yes, Illinois has vineyards and wineries and Blue Sky Vineyards is one of the best. The Chicago Blackhawks name is derived from their original owner’s service time in WWII in the 86th Infantry Division. Blue Sky Vineyards contributes to the well-being of US Veterans by donating $5.00 from every bottle of 2018 Veterans Honor Flight Bravo Blend to Honor Flight, an organization that ensures Veterans can travel to Washington D.C. to visit the monuments erected to honour their service.
Head over to the Blue Sky Vineyards website and order yourself some bottles + support the folks who served in an effort to ensure we can live the lives we have.

Team Notes
When I was a kid I read a story that the Chicago Black Hawks (now Blackhawks) name was selected because the original owner was also connected or involved with the ownership of a Chicago restaurant called the Black Hawk and thought that naming the NHL hockey team would be a good way to advertise it.
Don’t recall what book that was in but, would be curious to know if there is truth to that story.
As for the current team, the core group won 3 Stanley Cups between 2010 and 2015. It remains to be seen if they will be relevant in the Central Division moving forward.
Would also be nice to see a re-imagined logo. The culturally appropriate logo that has been pasted on the puck display was created by Ojibway artist Mike Ivall in 2015.
