Winnipeg Jets 2022 Wine Pairing: Persona Cab Merlot
Wine Notes
Hockey WineUp is very fond of Merlot and Merlot blends. Wine snobs generally poo-poo on Merlot without providing any first hand tasting experiences to support their dislike of the grape. On one hand, the grape is used for some of the finest, complex, and skillful blends from Bordeaux and on the other hand they can make unassuming table wines that can pair with pretty much any meal that is served. For those who embrace Merlot, there is a wide range of quality wines to explore at all price points. Persona Cabernet Merlot is one of these wines and can be purchased at the LCBO for $12.95

Team notes
After a disappointing end to the 2021 season, the Winnipeg Jets are looking to bounce back this year with a strong push in the Central Division. The team’s persona is a reflection of the City of Winnipeg and embodied in head coach Paul Maurice. The Winnipeg Jets have all the pieces needed for a Stanley Cup push: Heavy skilled forwards, Big defensemen that can also produce offense, and a Vezna winning goaltender.
The Winnipeg Jets are a lot like Merlot. The people who understand what the team is all about will love them and the people who don’t really get what hockey is all about will overlook their legitimacy.
Enjoy watching the Winnipeg Jets this year with a wine that describes what this team is all about, Persona.
