Los Angeles Kings 2022 Wine Pairing

Los Angeles Kings 2022 Wine Pairing: Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Chardonnay 2018

Wine Notes

A wine that represents the star power is this year’s selection for the L.A. Kings team pairing.

The Chardonnay grape is one of the most divisive varieties in existence. There are groups of wine drinkers who swear by the letters ABC, Anything But Chardonnay, while others will only drink Chablis (Chardonnay from a controlled area in Burgundy, France). When all is said and done the arguments over Chardonnay are a lot like the historic arguments about playing hockey in hot weather climates – there will always be some dinosaurs that don’t understand its importance.

Queue up Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Chardonnay 2018 – Like the L.A. Kings, there will be people who love it and people who fall in the ABC category. Either way it will be a conversation starter for watching the Kings play.

Team notes

Are the L.A. Kings too old?

There is a core of players who were around for their Stanley Cup victories in 2012 and 2014 and despite the sun setting on the careers of Dustin Brown, Jonathan Quick, Anze Kopitar, and even to an extent Drew Doughty… The future is bright for the Kings. There are 5 players on entry level contracts including the number 2 overall pick from the 2020 draft Quinton Byfield.

There’s a lot to talk about for the L.A. Kings: How will their new youth core develop? Should hockey be played in California? Were there any celebrities at the game? And to this list of questions we can add the following… “What do you think of this Chardonnay?”
