Colorado Avalanche 2023 Wine Pairing

G. Marquis The Silver Line Pinot Noir

Wine Notes:

From the winery:

“A medium-bodied Pinot Noir in the traditional cool climate Burgundian style. Classic notes of black cherry, violets and spice with sweet smoky, spice nuances. Silky mouthfeel leads to a complex, layered character revealing additional aromatics and a long, lasting finish.”

Team Facts

The Colorado Avalanche have won the Stanley Cup three times – 1996, 2001, 2022.

*The Quebec Nordiques played in the WHA from 1972-1979 before joining the NHL in 1979. As an NHL franchise the Nordiques never won the Stanley Cup. A weak Canadian dollar combined with player salaries being paid in USD resulted in the team relocated to Denver. The first season in Denver saw the franchise win their first Stanley Cup.

Wine Dorks

From the winery:

Juice and skins roto-fermented at 28-30˚C over a period of six days using FX10 yeast strain. Wine underwent natural malolactic fermentation during a two month period. Afterwards, barrel aging took place for six months in new 225 litre French and Hungarian oak casks subjected to medium toast. Wine was then fine filtered and bottled.
