Vancouver Canucks 2024 Team Pairing

Divergence Wines – BRUT NATURE 2020 Hughes Vineyard

Quinn Hughes is tired of the Vancouver Canucks losing and Canucks fans feel the same. The 24 year old Captain is young, highly skilled, and always enjoyable to watch. These words can also describe Divergence Wines.

The Canucks team pairing this year might be a little on the nose, Brut Nature 2020 Hughes Vineyard. Quinn and the vineyard are not related, but share a common name, and that is just the start of the similarities between the player and the wine. Quinn Hughes and teammates Elias Pettersson and Brock Boser are young, energetic, and balanced, don’t expect the Canucks to overpower any team, but they will always be a threat because of their skill and passion they bring. This experience and description will translate into your glass when you pop open this traditional style sparkling wine while watching the 2024 Vancouver Canucks.

Wine Details

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Hughes Vineyard come together to produce a complex and rich sparkling wine. The ripeness of the vintage allows this wine to be finished fully dry without overpowering acidity. Aged for 6 months on primary lees and a further 17 months in bottle following secondary fermentation, this wine was disgorged in September of 2022 with no sugar dosage; the same wine was used to top the bottles. Only 600 bottles produced.

Clear and golden with a vigorous mousse, this wine has aromas of granny smith apple, pear, pineapple, and freshly milled grain. The palate is full and soft, with acidity to carry the long, complex finish which adds nuttiness and a slight brioche note to the fruit aromas.
