Carolina Hurricanes 2024 Team Pairing

Divergence Wines, 2021 Pinot Noir Rosé – Crispino Vineyard

The year 2020 was important for two reasons. First, the Carolina Hurricanes emerged in the NHL Bubble season as a team that was a legitimate contender. Second, it was the year that Jeff Moote founded Divergence Wines.

2024 might end up being an even more significant year for both the “Canes” and “Divergence”. The Carolina Hurricanes are expected to be the number one contender for the Stanley Cup this year and is a team that has been building a culture that reflects the work ethic of head coach Rod Brind’Amour.

Just as the Hurricanes were starting to become an annual contender for the Stanley Cup in 2020, Divergence Wines started as an online winery and sourcing grapes from top vineyards in the Niagara region. Founder and winemaker, Jeff Moote has been building a brand and culture that is getting recognized through awards and very positive reviews. The 2021 Pinont Noir Rosé is a unique single vineyard wine that reflects the character and rise of the Carolina Hurricanes.

The past 4 years has demonstrated that both the Carolina Hurricanes and Divergence Wines are legitimate and produce a consistent quality worth of recognition. This wine will definitely be a contender for the 2024 Hockey WineUp Champion.

When you drink a glass of the 2021 Pinot Noir Rosé from Divergence Wines while watching the Carolina Hurricanes, you will have every reason to reflect on the past 4 years of growth and success of of the team under the leadership of Head Coach Rod Brind’Amour.

Wine Description

This single vineyard expression of Pinot Noir Rosé highlights the potential for this grape and style in Niagara. Hand harvested grapes, whole cluster pressing, and early bottling were all chosen to preserve the purity of the fruit and style. Barrel fermentation of a portion of the wine adds volume and texture, but selection of only older neutral barrels ensures no unwanted impact from the oak is present in the wine. Crisp, fruity, floral, and savoury, the wine is equal parts serious and lighthearted and is suitable for any occasion.
