Florida Panthers 2024 Team Pairing

Adamo Estate Winery – 2022 Frizzant Rose

What does wine in the Hockley Valley (about 1 hour 30 minutes north of Toronto) and hockey in Sunrise FLA have in common?

Quality found in a place you aren’t expecting.

Adamo Estate Winery is carving the way in a non-traditional Ontario VQA region the same way that the Florida Panthers have turned hockey into a community passion within the greater Miami area.

This wine is a fresh and lively wine, of red fruits and grapefruit zest.

Think about it… Fresh and lively = Tkachuck, and Red Fruit + Grapefruit … well that is simply what southeast Florida is all about.

Wine Description

From the winery:

Winemaking: The Gamay Noir were harvested in mid-September, with specific timing that incorporated fresh fruit flavours and zesty acidity. The grapes were machine harvested in the early morning to allow for a brief cold soak to develop a pink hue before going into our gentle bladder press. The juice was then cold settled in a stainless tank before racking into a second stainless tank for a long cool alcoholic fermentation. Once the wine finished the primary fermentation, it was transferred to a Charmat tank, where yeast and sugar were added to induce the secondary fermentation. The carbon dioxide produced in the secondary fermentation is captured in the tank and the wine, creating its characteristic bubbles. Finally the wine was carefully filtered and bottled.

Appearance:

Pink salmon with a peachy hue.

Aroma:

A lifted perfumed nose with notes of strawberry, watermelon, rhubarb and cherry pie. This fresh and clean wine allows the many succulent fruit aromas to jump out of the glass.

Palate:

The palate mirrors the aromas and has complimentary cranberry and hints of baking
spice. A fresh and lively wine, of red fruits and grapefruit zest. A fruit forward wine with a mouth filling mousse of bubbles, zesty acidity and a medium body that is lively and is full of freshness.
