Wines to Watch
The NHL Trade Deadline is on Friday March 8th. This week’s Wednesday Wine-Up will focus on teams that will need to determine if they are buyers or sellers. When all is said and done, the decisions teams make at the trade deadline will potentially impact which wine will become the 2024 Hockey WineUp Champion!
Fogolar Wines, 2018 Oppenlaender Vineyard Cabernet Franc
The Pittsburgh Penguins are generally an enjoyable NHL team to watch because of future Hall of Famers like Sydney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Leading up to March 8th all eyes will be watching to determine if the Penguins drop far enough away from a wild card spot to become sellers – if this happens watch out for Jake Guntzel being on the trade market.
Marynissen Estate Winery – 2021 Heritage Pinot Noir
The Calgary Flames may have started this year’s trade frenzy when they moved 6’5” Nikita Zadorov to the Vancouver Canucks. The next couple of weeks may be the final stretch of games that Noah Hanifin and Chris Tanev wear the Flames jersey (assuming they are dressed for the games).
Adamo Estate Winery, Frizzant White (Charmat Method)
The Anaheim Ducks are at the bottom of the standings which means high performance players in the final year of their contract potential trade targets. Adam Henrique will top this list for teams looking to add a forward.
