Pittsburgh Penguins 2021 Wine Pairing, François Mikulski Crémant de Bourgogne Brut
Wine notes
Crémant is made in France and uses the same technique as Champaign. In the words of Wayne Campbell…”It’s like Star Trek the Next Generation, in many ways it’s superior, but will never be as recognized as the original”.
The best way to learn more about this wine is directly from the wine maker: Domaine Mikulski.
Crémant has all of the wine characteristics that you would expect of Champagne, but is a much more reasonable price point. You will be able to find incredible Crémant options for around $20.
Team notes
The Pittsburgh Penguins may not be an Original Six team, but they were part of the NHL Original Expansion in the 1967/68 season. The team entered the realm of legendary in the early 90s when Mario Lemieux and Jarmir Jagr won back to back championships.
Today, the Penguins are lead by Sidney Crosby and have won 3 Stanley Cups under his watch.
The Penguins are a classic and unique franchise and deserve a classic wine option. François Mikulski Crémant de Bourgogne Brut (or any Crémant) will provide you with a Champagne experience that doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket.
